Ghanaian neo-soul vocalist, songwriter, and musician popularly known as Efya Nokturnal has revealed why she took a long break from music.
According to the award-winning songstress, she went out of the music scene because of a broken heart.
In a recent interview with AJ Sarpong on 3FM’s Urban Blend, Efya was questioned about her absence from the music scene to which she attributed it to a broken heart she got from someone.

The award-winning songstress revealed that the broken heart she suffered caused her to lose her singing ability hence she decided to shelve her talent for a while and stay out of public space.
“My heart was broken, I was heartbroken that I didn’t want to sing. You know I’m a baby girl so the way I feel matters to me a lot and it wasn’t something I wanted to deal with at that time.
“Also, I’ve been working for 15 years without break and in between these times I’ve been performing on all the shows and still representing. And I think I gave everyone their feature,” she concluded.

Despite having had a successful and envious musical career, the songstress took quite a long break from music and hasn’t released a hit song in years. However, she has been featured by some music artists lately.
