The Kumasi Kejetia market is currently on fire. Almost all the major stores in the market have gone up in flames as thick smoke bellows high into the clouds.
The cause of the fire is unknown but it is suspected to be a result of bad electrical wiring. The Kejetia market has experienced a number of fire outbreaks in the past with the majority being caused by electrical faults.
The outbreak has got a lot of Ghanaians concerned and the loss of properties may exceed millions of cedis in value.
It is alleged that people have been trapped in the fire and the Ghana Fire Service is doing it very best to quench the fire and rescue lives.
