There has always been the perception that people go into politics with the motive of enriching themselves in the shortest possible time.
The perception has been because of the sudden change in lifestyle and the continuous disappointment to electorates when these politicians win power.
Some politicians however have managed to break the stereotype and notable amongst them is the newly elected National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central Constituency, Joana Gyan.

One could say that she is the richest Ghanaian female politician under 40.
Joana Gyan is the Chief Executive officer of Golden Empire Legacy and also the founder of Gem Multimedia Ghana Limited.
Somewhere in 2020, she granted an interview on the Delay show where stated that she earns $700 million annually. It wasn’t just talk as she has a number of awards to prove it.

In 2022, she received an award by Forbes, as the Best Female Miner of the Year 2021 and another award for FIN Gold Woman of the Year. She was also honoured by FIN Woman Executive Visionary of The Year.
Joana Gyan has assured that she intends to go into politics, not for the money but to make a difference in the lives of his constituents.
She is married to Ghanaian musician Andrew Cudjoe of the Keche music group.
